New Sites From Some Indy Folks
May 23rd, 2008Hey all. Wanted to take a quick moment to draw to your attention a couple of new sites from some of our fellow Hoosier cartoonists.
Darren Strecker has a new art blog, which I’ve linked on our sidebar. Darren is a friend of IWG who we hope will join us again soon for a meetup. The bio on his new blog says it best so I’ll just add my bit by saying I love Darren’s work and can’t get enough of it. Please support our friend by visiting his blog and checking out the impressive work he’s shared so far.
David Reddick is a man of no small renown. His truly staggering list of comic strips he’s responsible for includes: Star Trek/CBS Studios (”The Trek Life” comic strip), Roddenberry Productions (”Gene’s Journal” and “Rod & Barry” comic strips), “Legend of Bill” at SoulGeek.com, and full-time cartoonist for “Garfield.” Speaking of Legend of Bill, David is now very close to launching this, his newest comic strip and partnership with Tall Tale Features. Time spent reading David’s comics has probably contributed to the recent economic recession due to too many people reading comics at work. Do your part! Take an extra long lunch break and check out David’s work.
That’s all for me right now. Don’t forget we need suggestions for a location for our next meetup that looks like it’s going to happen Sunday, June 1st.
Take care,
-Lee

Just got an email from David with some additional information about Legend of Bill.
“And hey, everyone, I’d like to invite you to swing by my new webcomic Website, “Legend of Bill!” The site is now live, and the comic debuts this coming Tuesday, May 27th. Looking for all the support I can get, and ready to kick things off! Also, I had a gallery showing of paintings in a Carmel gallery Friday, and was interviewed by Nuvo magazine, and I threw a big shout-out to the Indy Webcomics Group!! So, hopefully there will be some mention! ;-)”
Thanks David! And just to make sure the web address is visible: www.LegendofBill.com
Also, we’ve got a lot of good suggestions for the next meetup: Neon Johnny’s, The Slippery Noodle, Jillian’s, A couple for Rock Bottom Brewery… also the Pawn Shop Pub.
We’ll give it another day or two to see who else likes which suggestion then I’ll send out the email Wednesday to announcing where it’ll be. It is, after all, coming up this Sunday.
